Meet Greg and the group in Athens at Eletherios Venizelos airport. Transfer and check into our centrally located hotel, situated not far from the Herodion Atticus theater. The afternoon will be free to explore some of the sights of Athens. Later in the evening, we'll meet for our first dinner together in a taverna not far from the historic Plaka district.

Sun, Jun 18
After breakfast, board our mini-bus and visit ancient Marathon, Tumulus, Vravrona & Cape Sounio.  We’ll see the starting point of the Olympic Marathon race, an event which started with the first modern Olympics in Athens in 1896.  We’ll also visit the famous Temple of Poseidon “Cape Sounio” at the southern tip of Attica before returning to Athens via the scenic coastal road. Training in the evening.

Mon, Jun 19
Morning workout before breakfast. After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport to catch our flight to Ikaria island. Our driver will meet us there to take us to our seaside rooms in Armenistis. Once settled, we'll take a short transfer to Nas and the ancient ruins of the Sanctuary of Artemis, where we can do some swimming and rock lifting. We'll also have a cooking lesson from local residents Thea and Athina and enjoy our meal by the Aegean Sea.

Tue, Jun 20
Beach workout in the morning. After breakfast, transfer to Prophitis Ilias for a visit to Afianes Winery to see how Ikarian wine is traditionally made. After a snack of goat cheese and wine, we’ll hike through the Halaris canyon to the Raxounia waterfall area. We’ll continue hiking to the village of Christos Raches, where we’ll stop for lunch. Our driver will pick us up in Christo and return us back to Armenistis.

Wed, Jun 21
Mobility before breakfast and training during the day. We plan to have some downtime so you'll be able to explore on your own.

Thu, Jun 22

In the morning, we'll hike from the shore at Armenistis to the mountain villages of Raches. This is a 3 hour hike (uphill, rocky and steep at times), but we'll take a break for refreshments in Agios Dimitrios before continuing to Christos. After lunch in Christo, transfer to Agios Polykarpos and visit a beekeeper’s honey production facility before returning to Armenistis.

Fri, Jun 23

Excursion to the radium hot springs of Levkada and a visit to the town of Agios Kirikos. Plan for some workouts along the way. On the way back, we'll also stop at the traditional monestary of Theoktistis.

Sat, Jun 24

Drive to the south side of the island to visit some rugged areas, fishing villages and some of the most beautiful and hidden beaches in all of Greece. Later that evening, there is a local panigiri (festival) planned in the village of Christos Rachon, where there will be music and dance late into the night.

​Sun, Jun 25
In the early morning, we'll leave Armenistis and travel to the airport to catch our morning flight. back to mainland Greece. Once checked into the luxurious 5-star Sofitel, you'll have a full day to settle in, catch up on sleep, pamper yourself at the spa, or explore Athens and its sights. Overnight at the Athens Sofitel Airport Hotel.

Mon, Jun 26
Our active vacation comes to a close after a "goodbye" breakfast at the Sofitel. The airport terminal is just 50 meters away from the hotel, so it will be easy to catch your international departure flight.
