Wed, Sep 12

Meet Greg and the group in Athens at Eletherios Venizelos airport. Transfer and check into our centrally located hotel, situated not far from the Herodion Atticus theater. The afternoon will be free to catch up on sleep, but those interested can head to the Panathenaic Stadium for an outdoor training session. That evening, we’ll meet for our first dinner together in a taverna not far from the historic Plaka district.

Thu, Sep 13
In the morning we’ll discover another side of Athens just under the Acropolis. In addition to visiting various specialty food shops and learning about Greek cuisine, we’ll tour the vibrant central Varvakeios food market -- a walking tour led by a local expert guide. Later, we’ll join Street Workout Athens for some indoor and outdoor training at Fokianos Sports Park opposite Panathenaic Stadium.

Fri, Sep 14
Morning mobility before breakfast, then transfer to the airport to catch our flight to Ikaria island. Our driver will meet us there to take us to our seaside rooms near the town of Armenistis. Dinner on the terrace at the Atsachas, overlooking Livadi Beach and the Aegean Sea. Greg will teach some of the basic Greek dances after dinner, and you'll be introduced to the famous Ikariotiko - the dance of Ikaria.

Sat, Sep 15
In the morning, we'll hike from the shore at Armenistis to the mountain villages of Raches. This is a 3 hour hike (uphill, rocky and steep at times), but we'll take a break for refreshments in Agios Dimitrios before continuing to Christos. After lunch in Christo, we’ll transfer to Agios Polykarpos and visit a beekeeper’s honey production facility before returning to Armenistis.

Sun, Sep 16
Mobility and light training in the late morning. We'll hike to the seaside village of Nas, where we can do some rock lifting and swimming. Next, we'll have a cooking lesson from Thea Parikos, where we'll all get to take part in the meal preparation before sitting down with some homemade wine and enjoying our meal. The bus will be available for anyone who doesn’t walk back to our village (about 5km away).

Mon, Sep 17

Beach workout in the morning. We’ll have time for an afternoon siesta, because our driver will take us to Monodendri for the traditional panagiri (festival) of Agia Sophia. These events go late and we won’t return until after midnight.

Tue, Sep 18

 Aside from training activities, Tuesday will be a free day. We may take advantage of any local happenings nearby.

Wed, Sep 19

Transfer to the south side of the island to visit some rugged areas, fishing villages and some of the most beautiful and hidden beaches in all of Greece.

Thu, Sep 20
In the early morning, we'll leave Armenistis and travel to the radium hot springs at Levkada and a visit to the town of Agio Kirikos. We’ll then head to the airport to catch our afternoon flight. back to mainland Greece. Once checked into the luxurious 5-star Sofitel, you'll have a full day to settle in, catch up on sleep, pamper yourself at the spa, or explore Athens and its sights. Overnight at the Athens Sofitel Airport Hotel.

Fri, Sep 21
Our active vacation comes to a close after a "goodbye" breakfast at the Sofitel. The airport terminal is just 50 meters away from the hotel, so it will be easy to catch your international departure flight.
